St. Petersburg in Pictures

My lovely guides made sure I didn't get lost in the huge city of St. Petersburg. Here they're posing in front of the Winter Palace, also known as the Hermitage Museum, which we toured.

This is what I would consider the classic sight of the city. Wedding couples popped up everywhere to take pictures at popular sites with their entourages. We even saw some tourists jump into the pictures with them!

We stayed at Zenia's house, where the garden flowers were just beautiful. Here I am going crazy getting an armful of blooms!

From the Colonnade at St. Isaac's Cathedral, the view over the Neva canal is beautiful. Across the way is the university where my roommate studied.

St. Petersburg is full of beautiful buildings, canals and people. This is taken from the bridge going onto the Island Fortress of St. Peter and Paul, which, according to one of my guides, is the first thing that Peter the Great built in the city.
